Float FAQ’S

What Can I Expect?

Expect nothing—and everything. The float experience is about total relaxation. Learn more on our What to Expect page.

Why 90 Minutes?

Most float centers offer 60-minute sessions, but at Weightless Float Center, we believe 90 minutes is ideal.

It takes time for your mind and body to fully unwind. Research shows that entering the theta brainwave state—linked to REM sleep and deep meditation—requires extended sensory reduction. We want you to have time in that state, not just drifting toward it.

Plus, let’s be honest: it’s so cool, you won’t want to get out.

How Do You Keep the Water Clean?

We take sanitation seriously. For details on our multi-step filtration, UV, and salt sanitation process, visit our Sanitation page.

Should I Meditate?

Yes! Prepare your mind with our guided meditation. Listen or read here.

Do I Have to Close the Lid or Turn Off the Light?

Not at all. You’re in control. That said, we recommend turning off the light and closing the lid to get the full sensory deprivation experience.

How Will I Know When My Float Is Over?

Soft music will fade in and the lights will gently come on. After that, step out, rinse off, and enjoy our lounge or your next service.

Can I Float While Pregnant?

Absolutely—many pregnant women love floating for the relief it provides, especially in the later stages. However, if you're in your third trimester or have any concerns, please consult your doctor or midwife first. Learn more about floating while pregnant.

How will I know when its over?

Music fades in, lights come on, and you simply step out and shower off. Easy.

Can I fall asleep?

Yes! Many people do. The water safely supports your body the entire time.

What if I’m claustrophobic?

It’s a common questions, but guests with extreme claustrophobia have had great experiences. You can leave the door open, use lights, or choose a larger float cabin. The important thing to know is that YOU are in control of your experience. You can come and go from the tank at any time.

What should I bring?

If you have longer hair, you may want to bring any specific hair or body products you like after a shower. If you normally swim without contacts in, bring any contact case or solution you might need. Other than that, we provide everything you need (towels, robes, earplugs, body wash/shampoo, moisturizer, tea, water...) Full experience HERE.

Can I float on my period?

Yes—just follow the same protocol you’d use for a public pool.

Can two people float together?

Yes! We offer tandem floats. Learn more: Tandem Floats

Can I float for longer than 90 minutes?

Yes—ask us about extended sessions or booking back-to-back floats.

Can I float with freshly dyed hair?

Wait until the water in your home shower runs clear. Fresh dye can damage our float solution and stain our tanks, leading to a hefty cleaning fee.

Is there a place to store my things?

Yes—You will have a private float room that includes a private shower and a room where you can safely leave your items.
