It's our first week back open for floats and sauna, and there's a lot of emotions swirling around in the heart.
Weightless is our baby.
Built from the ground up on a dream of having a place where we could access the many energetic spaces floating can allow one into; closing our shop down for two-and-a-half months was no easy feat, and reopening amidst a global pandemic seemed like a lot to think about, but there's more--
The protests in Louisville and Minneapolis and all across the US in response to the killing of unarmed black people by the police are warranted, 100%.
Yes, there is damage to public and private property, yes there is looting, and yes, there is violence, but none of that overshadows the dark history of racism, oppression and classism that some people in power in this country have perpetuated for centuries.
We will continue to stand in solidarity (in spirit and in the streets) with our fellow citizens of this city, state, country, and Earth.
Our hearts go out to every person in need right now, and to those standing up right now, and most importantly to those who are taking action right now-- demanding reform, and creating solutions around the major issues we all face.
We're honored to know so many of you on the front lines-- in the streets, in the hospitals, in warehouses, and in small businesses-- this could not be done without you.
We see the work you're doing. This will not be forgotten.
So yes, this is our first week back at the helm of Weightless, and we feel like everyone could realllly use a float right now.
During business hours we’ll be here at the shop, socially distancing and sanitizing, like we have been since 2015.
